Online Poll: Do You Trust police
Online Poll: Do Think Police Are Homophobic

Online Poll: Do you think NSW Police should be allowed to march in the Sydney G&L Mardi Gras Parade

HOMOPHOBIC OFFICER REGISTER — please provide the officers name, rank, station and/or police vehicle details… and any relevant details of your encounter with homophobic officers, including date, time, location, what the officer did and said to, and any other information.

Police entrapment and ‘Agent Provocateur’ are against police procedure – and against the law… any evidence obtained through these practices cannot be used in court, and will generally be dismissed as police illegally obtained information.

  • If approached, Remain Calm and ALWAYS ask for the officers name, rank and station – which they MUST tell you.
  • Make note of anything officers do and say to you – officers cannot make any inappropriate and/or homophobic comments, they CANNOT accuse you of anything.
  • Officers CANNOT ‘threaten’ to visit your home and/or ‘out’ you… this is VILIFICATION and against the law — if this happens to you, seek legal advice and make a complaint about the officer.
  • Remain calm and advise the officer you will be making a formal COMPLAINT – this generally requires you to lodge a complaint in writing to the NSW Police and gives them a chance to address your concerns.
  • DO NOT PAY any fines… seek legal representation if you were fined or charged — forward a copy of any fines and/or paperwork received by police, simply scan and send to EMAIL.
  • Recent reports about the use of plain-clothed officers to entrap men is cause for great concern… covert operations at beats must be authorised by senior management, and may be evidence of serious misconduct.
  • It is not against the law to be in an area that’s a ‘known’ beat.
  • You have every right to take some photos with your camera phone – officers CANNOT tell you otherwise.

Remember to:

– include the date / time of incident
– note what officers did and said to you
– description of officers / what they were wearing / how many there were
– vehicle registration details – if possible / any other information that can identify them
– any other information you can provide about the incident

January, 2013

Reports indicate police are patrolling the area and recording personal/registration details.

You have every right to be in a public place… officers may request that you ‘move on’, yet cannot record your personal/registration details in COPS simply for being in the area and/or issue a ‘trespassing’ ticket — this is intimidation.

DO NOT pay any fines without seeking legal advice.

Officers are advised:

Under no circumstances should information such as people’s names and address or vehicle registration plates be entered into COPS purely on the basis that a person was at an area that is also a beat.

Remember to note anything that officers do and say to you… and always request the officers name, rank and station – which they must provide on approach and/or when requested… if they refuse to provide this information and/or fail to wear identification, note the police vehicle registration/call sign.

Please REPORT if you’ve been approached by police and/or issued with any fine – you can also scan and forward via EMAIL.

PS: We Love You for encouraging homophobia

Feb 2012 – We wish to thank Port Stephens Council and the Beats Interagency for signage that directs people to contact police and/or council after hours – 0408 493 376 – to report anti-social behaviour or vandalism in the area.

If you encounter any anti-social behaviour or vandalism – which includes dumping/burning of vehicles, dumping of waste materials, harassment and bullying by council staff and cleaners, harassment from vigilante residents and youths, and any other hate-related crimes… immediately contact police – 000 – or the council to report the incident.

Homophobic harassment and bullying by police, council staff and cleaners is unacceptable… if you’re bullied, ask for their name and to see identification – if they refuse, note the date/time and vehicle registration – this will assist you to identify them.

Please REPORT any incidents.

‘Fuck Off out of here!’

We’ve received reports that Maitland Police officers have significantly increased their presence at beats in the Maitland area, and have been approaching men in an aggressive and offensive manner.

At Williamtown, a man was told to ‘Fuck Off out of here!’ by officers… Clearly, these comments and actions are unacceptable and highlight serious misconduct and homophobia within the NSW Police Force – remind officers that such comments are a hate-related crime.

Please Be very careful.

We will continue to monitor activity by officers from Maitland Police, who’ve significantly increased their presence at Tomago and Williamtown, and are being very aggressive — please approach with caution and report any incident immediately.

Saturday August 28, 12am — Police Vehicle 4WD Pajero (Rego – BE 79 JM) — a male and female officer were observed harassing men.

It’s been reported that officers are telling men their details are being ‘entered on the system’, and in some cases, that they’ve been ‘seen’ in the area before — we note that it is not against the law to be in the area – no matter how many times you’re approached by officers… officers cannot record your personal details simply because you were in an area that is a ‘known’ beat.

Please also be aware that staff from the Detention Centre have been observed approaching the back fence to see if anyone is parked in the area and calling police.

At Williamtown, a man was told to ‘Fuck Off out of here!’ by officers from Maitland police. Clearly, these comments and actions are unacceptable and highlight serious misconduct and homophobia within the NSW Police Force.
